In my San Francisco practice I work with Adolescents and Children who may exhibit:
- Withdraw and Isolation from Friends and or Family
- Unrealized Talent or Giftedness
- Anxiety and Depression
- Cutting and or Self-Harm
- Sensory Processing Disorders
- Attachment Difficulties
- Foster and or Adoption Difficulties
- Bullying (Cyber and or Physical)
- Attention and Focus
- Cross Cultural Considerations
- Difficulties with Transitions
I try to create an atmosphere where children and adolescents can feel comfortable in exploring who they are and who they may become. Sometimes children and adolescents are also trying to make sense of their sexuality and or identity. Normal social and educational developments can sometimes be interrupted by a trauma or family stressor.
San Francisco Child and Adolescent Therapy Experience
I was a volunteer at "A Home Within", which provides counseling to children of foster families focusing on attachment difficulties, development, and trauma. In 2015, I served as the Clinical Director.
With respect to adolescents, I continue to have ongoing weekly consultation in a group that focuses on adolescents and have been a member since 2012. I also make use of a sandtray in my therapy which is a helpful tool for children who often don't always have the words for what they are going through.
